Moroccan Balboula Soup
Ingredients:
- 2 cups barley (balboula)
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1.5 liters water
- 2 cups milk
- Olive oil
- 1 grated onion
Preparation Method:
Step One: In a deep pot, add water and heat until it becomes hot. Then add the grated onion, salt, cumin, and olive oil.
Step Two: When the water starts to boil, add the barley (balboula) after cleaning it from impurities.
Step Three: Let the pot simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step Four: Once all the ingredients are cooked, give it a final stir before turning off the heat. Serve the soup in bowls, and you can also add a little thyme on top if desired.
